Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my pleasure to invite you to two stellar events presented this week by the Department of Music and Theatre. On Tuesday, March 11, Dr. Terry Crull and the FHSU Choirs will present a "Concert of Requests" featuring selections named by the Community and Choirs as their favorites. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Beach/Schmidt and will include music of Martin, Tschenokov and Brahms as well as tunes from "Les Miserables."

On Thursday, March 13, the FHSU Bands will perform their first concert of the semester with guest artist Allen Vizzutti. Mr. Vizzutti is one the finest trumpet players on the planet with performances and recordings that have taken him to 40 countries and every state in the union. He has collaborated with such artists as Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Neil Diamond, Chick Corea, Doc Sevrinsen and the NBC Tonight Show Band and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, he has over 100 motion picture sound tracks to his credit.

Mr. Vizzutti will perform two of his original compositions with the bands and will be joined for the second of these by FHSU Professor of Trumpet and Jazz Studies, Brad Dawson.

The concert begins at 7:30 in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. We hope you can join us for both of these events!
