🌎✨ Student Spotlight: Kait Mison ✨🌎

Meet Kait Mison, an Honors College student joining us online from Caledonia, Ontario, Canada! Kait is pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and was excited to find an online psychology program that also offered the opportunity to be part of an Honors College experience, something she says is not currently available in Canada.

Kait hopes to get involved with the Online Student Government Association and is especially looking forward to completing an Honors Senior Capstone and conducting independent research on neurodiversity and mental health during her time at FHSU.

Outside of class, Kait is a self-published author currently working on her second novel, which she hopes to publish while attending FHSU. When she's not writing, she enjoys bringing people together by running a weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign in her community. 🎲📚

Fun fact: This is Kait's second bachelor's degree! She previously earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts in English and Cultural Studies from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

We're excited to have Kait as part of our Honors community and to see all she accomplishes from across the border! 💛🐯

🌟 Peer Mentor Spotlight: Madeline! 🌟

Meet Madeline Byerly from Manhattan, Kansas! 💙 A Math Education major, Madeline stays busy as the President of the Residence Hall Association and a cellist with the Hays Symphony Orchestra. 🎻

When she's not studying or leading on campus, Madeline enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her pet ducks back home. 🦆📚🧁 She also recently became an aunt and is excited to welcome her new niece to the world! 💛

Meet Parker, a junior majoring in Cybersecurity with a minor in Biology! 💻🧬

When he's not studying, you'll find him on the golf course, hunting, fishing, or hanging out with friends over video and board games. Parker also loves learning new things, from geography and astronomy to 3D modeling. 🌎🌌🎮

What is he looking forward to most?

Meet Sam Schroeder from Paradise, Kansas! A double major in Physics and Mathematics, Sam stays involved as a theater actor and member of the Physics Club.

What is he looking forward to most?
💬 “It may sound simple, but classwork and hanging out. Board games are always fun (especially Twilight Imperium), dinner with friends is great, and I am a mathematics addict.”

Fun fact: Sam says his thirst for knowledge is only matched by the size of his personality... and he thinks geese are pretty cool, too! 🪿
