Beyond the classroom, our students have dedicated themselves to a higher purpose: understanding the complexities of our world and learning the tools to meaningfully transform it.

This weekend, students from the Department of Communication Studies, Law, and Political Science crossed the commencement stage, as we celebrated the tremendous accomplishments they've made over the past several years.

Big news from Tucson! 🌵

Our own Latisha Haag, along with fellow FHSU faculty members Dr. Janet Stramel, Dr. Rachel Dolechek, and Jessica Heronemus-Claiborn, took the stage at the AAC&U Conference on Learning and Student Success (CLASS) last week with their presentation, "Faculty as Digital Teaching Champions: Cultivating Courageous Care Across a Regional Comprehensive University." It's inspiring to see our faculty leading the way in modernizing the classroom experience while keeping the focus firmly on the student experience.

We couldn't be more grateful for our amazing student employees, Camila Garcia, Lindsey Mahan, and Tayton Roberts!

Between her double major in Social Work and Spanish and her Sociology minor, Camila still finds time to help us level up our TikTok game! When she isn't in the office, Camila is all about social justice. She's already finding ways to put her education into practice as the secretary of the Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO). We love seeing how she's connecting her studies to her goal of creating change in her community!

When it comes to crunching numbers or jamming on spreadsheets, Lindsey is our girl! As a public accounting and finance major, Lindsey knows how to keep things organized and flowing. She's the definition of "quietly brilliant," always focused and incredibly reliable. We are so proud of the work Lindsey is doing, and can't wait to see what she'll achieve in the future. We're lucky to have her on the team!

While many of us are hitting the books on campus, Tayton is navigating the globe! As part of her semester at sea, Tayton is balancing her academics with international exploration. Her courage to step outside of her comfort zone is what makes her an exceptional student. Whether she's at the Taj Mahal or Rarick Hall, we couldn't be more appreciative of the work she's done for us!
