Hays High JAG-K student Leo Hernandez is the 2024 State Champion in the Employability Skills division of the JAG-K State Career Development Conference. He is now qualified to move to the National CDC where he will compete against the best in the nation. Nationals are in St. Louis March 18th-21st. Good luck Leo, we are all proud of you!!

Today for class we visited the Hays Police Department to meet some officers, and to learn about their role in the Hays community.

The HHS JAG-K chapter has had a busy week! On Wednesday, four of our students competed in the Regional Career Development Conference, winning 6th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd in their respective events. In addition, throughout the week our JAG members completed various checkpoint assignments in class and took a trip to a local assisted living community to interact and enjoy time with the residents!

Hays High Jag K goes to Topeka to tour the capital! Our officers,Brooke, Nicole and Adaighzion got to go on the Topeka Capital Tour! Went on a historic tour. Learned about Bleeding Kansas, The building of the Capital, and one very cool library! Also met up with the Hays representative, Barb Wasinger!

First full days back to class! Working on finishing competency posters and ranking our mastery levels and doing group presentations. A fun and engaging activity to start the semester!

Anybody who is interested in donating blood can help us reach our goals by signing up at the link below. The actual days of the blood drive are December 21 and 22 from 10am to 4pm at the Hays Public Lubrary.

We started off the day hearing from Trooper Tod Hileman who talked about careers in law enforcement. We ended the day speaking with Patrick Dake, Joni Bolen and Bev Mortimer from the JAG-K state office. Overall, we had a very positive and informative day of learning and collaborating!

Busy day today! Our second hour class visited Cross Manufacturing for an interactive tour. Then our State Representative Barb Wasinger treated our entire JAG program to a pizza feast! Even a couple of JAG alums showed up!!
