What an incredible day at Run with the Rays: A Fun Run Benefitting the Willing Warriors!🏃‍♀️☀️

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our PTO and this special cause. With over 300 registrations, the energy, excitement, and community spirit were amazing to see!

Because of your participation and support, we are proud to share that we’ll be able to donate over $1,500 to Willing Warriors. This impact is a direct result of our incredible families, volunteers, and supporters.

We had so much fun and truly loved seeing so many families out enjoying the day together. Thank you for making this event such a success, it we couldn’t have done it without you!

We have been absolutely blown away by the support for Staff Appreciation Week so far—thank you!! 💙💛

As we finalize plans and begin ordering, we still need a little help filling a few remaining spots on our SignUp Genius. These contributions truly help make the week extra special for our amazing Alvey staff!

We’re hoping to have everything filled by the end of this week so we can move forward with preparations. Here’s what we still need:
• 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲: Breakfast setup volunteers & donations (casseroles, fruit, etc.)

Today is the big day! Thank you for signing up to Run with the Rays: A Fun Run Benefitting the Willing Warriors! Race check in starts at 5pm!

This isn’t just a race. It’s a run with a mission. Your registration does double the good with a 50/50 impact split:

$5.00 goes to Alvey Elementary for upgrades to the school library and storybook room for all Sunrays.
$5.00 goes to Serve Our Willing Warriors - SOWW Retreat at Bull Run in Haymarket, providing cost-free getaways for wounded service members.
$0.66 goes to credit card processing fees

Please note: each person in your family will need to register in order to participate.

🌟 Event Highlights
Bring the Entire Family: This event is for everyone! From toddlers in strollers to grandparents, we want to see the entire family out on the course celebrating our community. Come out to run, play family friendly games, enjoy concessions, and cheer on our Sunrays.

🎉 Run with the Rays – Know Before You Go! 🏃‍♀️☀️

We’re so excited to see you! Here are a few helpful details to make your evening smooth and fun:

🚗 Parking: Available in the main parking lot. Please note: no cars will be permitted in the bus loop. There will be areas of the parking lot blocked off by cones. Please do not park in the areas that are blocked off. SACC pickup will require parents to park and walk up to the SACC door as the front lot will be closed from 5:30 - 6:30PM.

📍 Check-In: Stop by the Registration Tent (near the bus loop doors) when you arrive to pick up your registration bracelet. There are no race bibs or race day shirts for this event.

🍕 Food & Drinks: Concessions will be available for purchase (pizza, popcorn, drinks, and more!)

🥤 Special Treat: Juniesdrinksco and Sweet Delights by Farmstead, LLC. will be on site with drinks and cookies for sale! A portion of their sales will be donated back to the PTO!

📝 Registration: Same-day registration will be available, but we strongly encourage you to register ahead of time to save time!

👟 What to Bring: Comfortable running shoes, water, and your school spirit! No scooters, bikes, or electric bikes will be permitted on the course for runner safety.
