Important VHSL State Basketball Championship Information for the State Championship on Friday, March 11.

1. The requiring of masks for all fans
a. We are fortunate to have the kind of working relationship with VCU that allows our student athletes to contest these games at a big-time venue. There are instances when these facilities require us to follow certain athletic and university rules which may not be consistent with our school requirements. This year VCU is requiring masking of all fans consistent with their 2021-2022 VCU game policy. It reads, “Per university policy, fans are required to wear a face mask while attending games at VCU Athletic facilities at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in their seats. Fans will not be permitted to enter games without a face mask.”

2. Ticketing
a. All ticketing will be on-line through the VCU ticketing process. VHSL WILL NOT be using Go-Fan for these games.

b. The link to provide those who need access is: VHSL State Championships or they may visit the VCU Athletic site at
Congratulations to the Battlefield Bobcats Varsity Boys Basketball team, who beat Patriot High School tonight in the State Semi-Finals at PHS 55-54! The Bobcats play Hayfield at VCU for the State Championship on Friday at 2:30. #gobobcats

Mrs. Duley's World History II class is currently learning about the Renaissance and some great Renaissance artists like Michaelangelo! She had her students recreate what it would have been like for Michaelangelo when he was working on the chapel ceiling by having her students draw a picture on a paper taped to the bottom of the desk. How fun!

Congrats to our Bobcats of the Month!!

Mike Schaming

Has fixed everyone of my "technical problems" QUICKLY and professionally!

He goes above and beyond to make sure all of our devices are working properly and technical issues are dealt with as soon as possible. Becoming 1 to 1 has certainly had its challenges, and Mike helps both students and staff in tackling both the known and unknown (even if behind the scenes many times).

I can't imagine what one to one would look like without Mike Schaming. He is not only knowledgeable and capable but willing to always go above and beyond for our students and staff. His knowledge and skill set are a huge blessing to our school.

Sally Atkins

Sally worked the entire teacher work week clearing out the ESOL room and new parent liaison room while also handling a new case load in SPED as a new first year teacher in LD. I thought it was quite remarkable that she was able to do all those things and still complete her LD responsibilities!

Julie Graves

As our department chair she has stuck by us through thick and thin and still manages to make us laugh at lunch. She has shown such kindness and thoughtfulness over the years as different department members have been through so much. She has also faced her own challenges and still manages to come in and inspire us.

Kristi Jean

That period at the end of her name is enough for me but, if you need more, no one does as much to get student laptops into students' hands, AND track all of it, than she does. She's ready to help anyone with anything and she does it with a smile even though she feels the pressure and stress of it as much as any of us do.

I'm pretty sure anyone at Battlefield in the past 3.5 years has received assistance by Kristi at one point or another. Whether it's helping students pick out the perfect book, helping guide both students and staff in the right direction when they have a question, or distributing laptops and loaners, she's been a huge asset to the Bobcat family.

Kristi has the most positive outlook and is incredibly encouraging in every interaction she has, both with staff members and students alike. Her quiet calm is so reassuring, and she is so easy to work with and talk to when resolving conflicts. Kristi carries a heavy workload but is intentional in doing everything that is asked of her with a smile! We could not be luckier to have her as a Bobcat!

We could not have done it without them.
