Lower Elementary:
Question: Anna picks twice as many tomatoes as Brayden. Catherine picks 12 more tomatoes than Brayden. If Catherine picks 16 tomatoes, then how many tomatoes does Anna pick?

Upper Elementary:
Question: Francis is chopping a 10-layered onion. He first cuts the onion in half vertically, from stem to roots. He then cuts each half of the onion 4 times. How many pieces of onion does Francis have after he separates all the layers?

Middle School:
Question: John is growing broccoli in his garden. He plants the broccoli in the morning on April 1. 96,480 minutes later, he harvests the broccoli. On what date does John harvest the broccoli?
(You may look up how many days are in each month.)

Algebra and Up:
Question: A strawberry has 1 seed per 5 square millimeters on its surface. Use the formula for the surface area of a cone—surface area = πr(r+sqrt[h2 + r2])—to approximate the number of seeds on an almost-cone-shaped strawberry whose height is 36 mm and whose diameter at its widest is 54 mm. Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

Middle School:
Question: The ratio of apples to oranges in a box is 7:18. What is the percent chance that a fruit drawn at random from the box will be an orange?

Algebra and Up:
Question: There are 100 marbles in a bag. They’re numbered 0, 1, 2, all the way through 99. What is the probability that if you draw three marbles out of the bag at random without replacing them, the number on the first marble will be 0, the number on the second will be 1, and the number on the third will be 2?

Lower Elementary:
Question: A clown makes 11 balloon poodles, 15 balloon octopuses, 4 balloon flowers, and a balloon giraffe. How many balloon animals does the clown make?

Upper Elementary:
Question: A spinning prize wheel has four different varieties of prizes. 40% of the prizes are items from a prize case. 30% of the prizes are tickets to a concert. 20% of the prizes are cash. The other 2 prizes are all-expense-paid trips. How many total prizes are on the wheel?

Middle School:
Question: A dunk tank is 4/5 full. After Dave gets dunked, 1/4 of the water splashes out. After that, there are 450 gallons of water left. How many gallons of water does the dunk tank hold when it’s full?

Algebra and Up:
Question: The paper cone of a snowcone is 5 inches deep and 3 inches wide at its opening. If the cone is filled to the top with snow and then a perfect hemisphere of snow is placed on top, what is the volume of the snow in cubic inches?

Upper Elementary:
Question: Brandon finds 4 pounds and 8 ounces of wood for a campfire. Emma finds 5 pounds and 11 ounces. Luis finds 9 pounds and 3 ounces. How much campfire do they have in total?

Middle School:
Question: An unroasted marshmallow has a volume of 0.25π cubic inches. After Andrew roasts the marshmallow over a campfire, its volume is 150% its original volume. What is the post-roast volume of the marshmallow?

Algebra and Up:
Question: A triangular prism-shaped tent has a rectangular base that is 6 feet wide and 8 feet long. The isosceles triangular sides have bases that are 6 feet wide and edges that are 5 feet in length. If all the walls of the tent are pulled perfectly flat, then what is the volume of the tent?

Lower Elementary:
Question: Did you know that goldfish memories last for 180 days and that they can recognize faces? If Mrs. Olson sends her 1st grade class’s goldfish to live with one of her students for the summer, will it recognize her 3 months later when the student brings it back to school?

Upper Elementary:
Question: Terry has a goldfish that is 3¼ inches long. Margot has a goldfish that is 3.3 inches long. Who has the bigger goldfish?

Middle School:
Question: An aquarium is 24 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 16 inches tall. What is the volume of the aquarium?

Algebra and Up:
Question: Sebastian wins a 0.5 inch long goldfish at a county fair. Every year, the goldfish’s length increases by 25%. The goldfish lives for 21 more years. Write an equation for the length of the fish x in terms of the number of years t that have passed since the county fair.

Question: Layla takes her dog for a 20 minute walk each morning. On Monday, she takes the dog out for a walk at 7:55 AM and walks the dog for 8 minutes longer than the usual amount of time. At what time do they get back to their house?

Upper Elementary:
Question: Spot the dog can jump 3¾ feet into the air. Can Spot catch a frisbee that flies 44 inches over his head?

Middle School:
Question: A box of dog biscuits is 10 centimeters long, 5 centimeters wide, and 18 centimeters tall. Each dog biscuit takes up 2 cubic centimeters of space in the box. How many dog biscuits can fit in the box?

Algebra and Up:
Question: Steven uses the equation below to find the average change in weight by his dogs after a month of feeding them Such Healthy Very Dog Wow brand dog food.

Hello here is the problem of the week:
Lower Elementary:
Question: Each of 10 cats has 10 kittens. Each of the kittens has 10 whiskers. How many kitten whiskers are there?

Upper Elementary:
Question: Jessica has three cats. One is black, one is gray, and one is white. The white cat is not the oldest. The gray cat is older than the black cat. The black cat is younger than the white cat. Put Jessica’s cats in order from youngest to oldest.

Middle School:
Question: The cost per day of Kitty Kare cat sitters is $20 plus $8 per cat. Furbaby Sitters charge $25 and $4 per cat. Scott is going out of town for two days and needs a sitter for his three cats. How much money does Scott save by choosing Furbaby Sitters instead of Kitty Kare?

Algebra and Up:
Question: A cat starts chasing a mouse from 10 meters away. The cat runs at a rate of 14 meters per second, and the mouse scampers at a rate of 4 meters per second. How many seconds will it take the cat to catch the mouse?
