Thanks everyone for your patience this morning! We are so excited to have our kids back!
The first week of school traffic is always a challenge and of course, with all the construction on and off campus, today was no exception. But, we also know that things will get quicker as everyone learns the routines. We also know we have more parents dropping off the first few days. So, we fully expect things will get quicker every day.
A few things that we have observed that may help things move smoother in the morning:
-No cars should stop in Yellow Jacket Drive to let children out. Student exiting from cars should only be released in the designated loops.
-Please keep in mind that high school students can unload at HES and enter through the back of the high school gym to avoid Yellow Jacket Drive if desired.
-When dropping students off in one of the loops, please pull all the way forward so multiple cars can be unloading at the same time.
-If you need to drop off students at multiple schools, please drop off at HPS first.
-From 7:25-7:45, all parent/student traffic should enter from the HPS side. Yellow Jacket Drive will be accessible from both ends beginning at 7:45.
-We will not be assigning tardies until we get to the end of the traffic line. We know things are a little slower the first few days.
-Parents who are walking students to class at HPS on these first 3 days should not park in the parking lots- those are for staff. Please park along the HPS loop.
-Don’t forget to be watching for stopped school buses with their stop arms out! You must stop, even on campus!
Again, thank you for your patience, cooperation, and kindness. We knew this would be difficult, but little things make a big difference, so if you can help us with the things mentioned above, we would greatly appreciate it!
