Thanks everyone for your patience this morning! We are so excited to have our kids back!

The first week of school traffic is always a challenge and of course, with all the construction on and off campus, today was no exception. But, we also know that things will get quicker as everyone learns the routines. We also know we have more parents dropping off the first few days. So, we fully expect things will get quicker every day.

A few things that we have observed that may help things move smoother in the morning:
-No cars should stop in Yellow Jacket Drive to let children out. Student exiting from cars should only be released in the designated loops.
-Please keep in mind that high school students can unload at HES and enter through the back of the high school gym to avoid Yellow Jacket Drive if desired.
-When dropping students off in one of the loops, please pull all the way forward so multiple cars can be unloading at the same time.
-If you need to drop off students at multiple schools, please drop off at HPS first.
-From 7:25-7:45, all parent/student traffic should enter from the HPS side. Yellow Jacket Drive will be accessible from both ends beginning at 7:45.
-We will not be assigning tardies until we get to the end of the traffic line. We know things are a little slower the first few days.
-Parents who are walking students to class at HPS on these first 3 days should not park in the parking lots- those are for staff. Please park along the HPS loop.
-Don’t forget to be watching for stopped school buses with their stop arms out! You must stop, even on campus!

Again, thank you for your patience, cooperation, and kindness. We knew this would be difficult, but little things make a big difference, so if you can help us with the things mentioned above, we would greatly appreciate it!

🚗 Car Rider Traffic Reminders🚦

Parents, thank you in advance for helping us keep our traffic patterns safe and smooth for everyone! Below are important reminders for drop-off and pick-up procedures. Two maps are included with this post to help you visualize the flow.

Morning Drop-Off
• HPS: Traffic loop in front of HPS (enter through main entrance). Begins 7:28 AM.
• HES: Circle in front of HES. Begins 7:30 AM.
• HMS: Central Office parking lot. Begins 7:30 AM.
• HHS: Circle in front of HHS. Begins 7:30 AM.

⏰ Safety Reminder: Please do not drop off students before the listed times. Staff supervision is not available prior to those times.

🚦 Yellow Jacket Drive Reminder:
• Closed to entry from the HMS/roundabout side from 7:25–7:45 AM due to bus unloading (bus stop arms will be out and traffic cannot flow).
• If possible, wait until 7:45 to enter Yellow Jacket Drive to avoid bus congestion.

Afternoon Pick-Up
• HPS: Traffic loop in front of HPS (enter through main entrance). Begins 2:58 PM.
• HES/HHS: Shared pick-up line through HHS gym parking lot.
• All HES/HHS parents must enter through the HHS gym lot.
• HHS students will be picked up at the HHS gym porch.
• HES parents continue in the queue to the HHS Circle.
• No skipping the HHS gym lot.
• HMS: Central Office parking lot.

‼️ Please do not arrive early for pick up. Our parking lots must be accessible, so cars waiting to pick up cannot be parked in the parking lots.

‼️Only those going straight to HMS may proceed directly through Yellow Jacket Drive.

💡 A few final reminders:
• The first few days will always be slower and more congested—please be patient, bring a smile, and remember it will get better (just like last year!).
• New to Clay County Schools? 📹 You can watch our district traffic video here: https://youtu.be/HmbUEMRVKFs. This video explains our traffic patterns. Note: HHS pick-up has moved to the HHS gym porch since that video was made. If you already “know the drill,” no need to re-watch.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and our traffic moving! 💛🐝

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Katthryn “Kat” Rogers.

Kat was a dedicated member of the Clay County Schools family and our Child Nutrition Program. For more than 17 years, she faithfully served thousands of meals to our students and staff, touching countless lives through her service and care.

Kat is survived by her husband, Charles, and her daughters, Brooke and Jill. Please join us in keeping Kat’s family, friends, and coworkers in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. She will be deeply missed.

Welcome back to a brand new school year! Our School Nutrition team can't wait to welcome everyone back!

We are incredibly excited to announce that our district will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the upcoming school year. What does this mean for your family? It means that every single student enrolled in our school is eligible to receive a nutritious breakfast and a well-balanced lunch each school day at absolutely no cost to you. No paperwork, applications, or fee structures are required to benefit from these free daily meals. We encourage all of our students to take advantage of this wonderful program and start their days with a healthy breakfast and recharge at lunch.

While standard breakfast and lunch meals are completely free for everyone, we know that students sometimes like a little something extra. We want to let you know that we will continue to sell a la carte snacks and beverages in the cafeteria. You can add funds to your child’s school meal account online or have them bring cash to the register if they wish to buy snacks.

Our mission is to support your child’s education by providing wholesome, appealing meals in a safe and welcoming environment. We cannot wait to see those smiling faces in the lunch line very soon!

A special thank-you to Mt. Pleasant Church for graciously allowing us to use its beautiful facilities and to the Ministerial Association for providing a delicious luncheon.
