Day 2 in Paris. I rented a bike (surprising how complicated it can be when you don’t speak the language and didn’t reserve on line) and then rode out to Versailles via St. Cloud and the magnificent grounds of the chateau that once existed here, then discovered that you can actually ride your bike at Versailles, if you enter at the east gate. Then through a woods and along a river trail to St. Germaine en Laye, then along its magnificent terrace and through a fine forest path to Maisons-Lafitte Castle, then back to the city via la Defense and Champs Elysee. Paris is beautiful at night. Later I took a stroll in the nearby Latin Quarter and past Notre Dame, which is supposed to be finished and reopened later next year. 😀🚴‍♀️
