🌎🌱 6th Grade Conservation Day! 🌱🌎

On October 2nd, our 6th graders had the opportunity to attend Conservation Day hosted by the Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District!

Throughout the day, students learned from six different presenters about our local environment, natural resources, and ways we can all become better stewards of the Earth. 🌿💧🐝

Of course, learning wasn’t the only fun part! Students also enjoyed some time by the lake, playing and spending time with their classmates during lunch. ☀️🌊

We are so thankful for the opportunity to get outside, learn about our local community, and discover ways we can make a positive difference in the world around us! 💚🌎

💚HMS House Service Project — Sponsored by Isibindi!

Our first HMS House service project of the year is being led by the Isibindi House!

From now through October 15, we are collecting items that could provide comfort or support to someone going through cancer treatment. All donations will be given to the Northside Cancer Institute.

Students may place donated items in their House collection boxes located in the front lobby.

🎀 October 15 will be our grand finale — PINK OUT DAY!
Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink as we come together to show our support for those impacted by cancer.

Thank you for helping our HMS Houses make a difference in our community! 💗

Our HMS staff spent today learning, collaborating, and growing together with one goal in mind—ensuring every student learns at high levels!

Teachers shared their experiences implementing Proficiency Scales, reflected on lessons learned, and collaborated with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices.

We are grateful for a staff that is willing to learn from one another, reflect on their practice, and continually work toward doing what is best for our students!
