It was so great seeing our Panthers back in the halls for Open House! We loved catching up with returning families, meeting new ones, and seeing so many excited faces ready for a new school year.

A big thank you to our amazing community partners who joined us for the evening! We’re so thankful for the organizations and individuals who continue to show up for our students and families.

We can’t wait to see everyone back for the first day!

Welcome to Abingdon, Mrs. Rusk!

Mrs. Rusk may already be a familiar face to many of our students from her years of substituting throughout GCPS. This year, we’re excited to officially welcome her to Abingdon as a Pre-K Paraprofessional!

The first day of school is right around the corner, and we can't wait to welcome our Panther families back!

Join us on Tuesday, August 18 to meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, pick up important information, and say hello to our staff before the school year begins.

Mr. Casas got in on the fun at the Annual Boys & Girls Club Splash Bash today!

He was such a good sport and took a turn in the dunk tank! We love seeing our Abingdon crew out having fun with our community.

Our Panthers are back in the building!

We’re excited to welcome one of our newest Panthers!

She comes to Abingdon with 36 years of experience in education, including teaching in Williamsburg, Newport News, and Chesterfield. She has also worked as a reading specialist at Petsworth and as an instructional coach in the Outer Banks. She attended CNU and Longwood and has a master’s degree in Reading and Culture.

Originally from York County, she now calls Mathews home. She enjoys traveling, kayaking, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family and two grandchildren.

She’s looking forward to starting a new adventure at Abingdon and working in special education this year. We’re excited to have her with us

🐾 Our teachers are back at Abingdon today!

We’re so excited to have everyone back in the building and getting ready for a new school year. Classrooms are coming together, hallways are getting busier, and it’s starting to feel like school again!

We can’t wait to have our Panthers back with us soon!
