Grades 1–12: Monday, August 17th
Kindergarten: Wednesday, August 19th

🩺 Free Sports Physicals: Mt. Grant General Hospital will offer FREE sports physicals the first week of August. Contact the hospital to schedule an appointment for students participating in athletics.

🎒 Back to School Community Resource Fair
Join us and Community Chest Saturday, August 1st, from 11:00 AM–1:30 PM on the front lawn of the District Office (751 A Street) for free school supplies (while supplies last), community resources, and family connections!

🎓✨ MCHS Amazing Alumni Series ✨🎓

Today we are proud to recognize another incredible MCHS graduate:

Jerzi Moody-Isom, Class of 2020

Mineral County School District is proud to highlight MCHS alumna Jerzi Moody-Isom, Class of 2020, whose journey is a powerful example of purpose, dedication, and service to others.

Jerzi is a proud product of Mineral County School District, having attended Hawthorne Elementary School, Hawthorne Jr. High School, and Mineral County High School.

While attending MCHS, Jerzi participated in our Schools to Careers (CTE) program, working alongside the Mineral County Fire Department as a Fire/EMS Cadet. From responding to ambulance calls to supporting fire response efforts, Jerzi gained real-world experience that sparked her passion for emergency services. She went on to become a certified EMT, setting the stage for her future career.

After graduation, Jerzi continued her education at Western Nevada College and the Truckee Meadows Community College Paramedic Program, graduating in May 2024. Just one month later, she earned her Paramedic license and began her career with Banner Health EMS in neighboring Churchill County, while continuing to call Hawthorne home.

Today, Jerzi is on the front lines—responding to emergencies, providing critical care, and making a real difference in the lives of others every single day.

Her story is a testament to what’s possible when students are given meaningful, real-world opportunities and the support to pursue their passions. Jerzi represents the very best of MCSD—turning learning into purpose and giving back to the region and community that helped shape her.
