Our 4th graders celebrated an amazing year with a fun-filled Water Day! There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and memories made as we enjoyed one last special day together before summer break.

A huge thank you to the Viani family for generously donating supplies and to our incredible maintenance crew member, Jake Rosemore, for helping make this event possible. Your support means so much to our students and staff!

As we close the chapter on another school year, we are filled with gratitude for all the families, volunteers, and community members who helped make it a success. What a year it has been! ❤️🎉

Hello HES Family!

We only have two and a half days left in the school year—how exciting! 🎉

As we begin preparing for next year, class lists have already been created and are now posted on the front door of the front office.

Please know that our teachers spent a great deal of time and effort thoughtfully considering each child’s strengths and needs when creating these class placements.💚💙🩵❤️

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding your child’s placement, please do not hesitate to call the school to schedule a meeting with Ms. Claire at 775-945-1000 next week, June 1–3, so she can discuss them with you.

🐦 First graders put different “bird beaks” to the test this week! Using pliers, plastic tweezers, and pasta servers, they raced the clock to collect data on cracking seeds and scooping “fish” (cubes).

Students discovered that strong, pointed beaks are best for cracking seeds, while larger beaks with filtering structures are better for scooping fish. Some favorite birds included the song sparrow, skimmer, and spoonbill!

Next week, they’ll investigate which beak is best for digging worms (rubber bands) from dirt. 🪱🔍📊

Our Fourth Grade students practiced their entrepreneurship and money skills during Market Day by creating, pricing, and selling their own arts and crafts! 🎨💵✨ This hands-on activity helped them build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and real-world money handling skills. We are so proud of our young entrepreneurs! 👏
