The College Board recently released the list of 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll awardees, and HMSA is officially a Platinum-level award recipient. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools earn this distinguished recognition based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. There are four Honor Roll levels, and HMSA's Platinum status is the highest a school can achieve.

This Hawthorne high school’s seniors get automatic admission to Cal State Dominguez Hills Hawthorne School District inked an agreement Sept. 12 with the local university to guarantee admission and first-choice majors.
