Now that Thanksgiving is over and Christmas time is upon us, I can use my most effective motivational phrase for practicing:
SANTA CLAUS DOESN'T COME FOR CHILDREN WHO PLAY WRONG NOTES!!

After Celine played her song saying all the letter names, I asked her to play it saying skips and steps. She informed me that I hadn't assigned that to her. I said "Oh, that's ok, we can still do it right now!" She said "No, Miss Rebecca, you told me NOT to do them, see?!?"

My work here is done...

Miss Rebecca: (to Tuesday students) OK, next week is election day. It'll be historical no matter what happens. Now, IF things don't go well and there's mass rioting and civil war breaks out....WE'RE STILL GONNA HAVE A LESSON!!! YOU BETTER GET THOSE SCALES BRUSHED UP FOR THE RESISTANCE!! Here at Miss Rebecca's School of Music Learnin', we don't believe in the 'R' word (Recital). We have Happy-Time Music-Playin' Cookie Parties! Students gather and play songs and eat cookies -- it's great fun for all!

Skype/Zoom lessons have been going very well! For the next 2 months, I have plenty of available time slots, if you/your child or anyone you know could use music lessons.
