Mineral County High School/HJHS GEAR UP Mineral County High School/Jr. High GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs).

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded grant that is designed to increase the number of students who graduate high school, are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education or in the work force. Generally, students are identified as GEAR UP during their 7th grade year and exposed to GEAR UP activities that continue through high s

chool. There are 18 middle schools and 21 high schools, or approximately 5,500 students, included in the Nevada State GEAR UP project.
