Please join us for community, food, arts and entertainment as we celebrate the many Talents of DVIA this Saturday, 2/24 from 4:30 to 7:00pm.

Pre-sale of tickets for Creative and Culinary Arts fundraisers as well as pizza can be made with the link below, or bring cash to the event to purchase tickets for these items.

The Art Walk will begin outside; enter through the side gate used at pick up and dress warmly. Additional Art Walk sections and Stage Performances will be inside the Forum this year. Floor space and bench seating will be available, so if you'd like, bring a blanket or small cushion for kiddos to cozy up on the floor with. Plan to stay for the entire event as you won't want to miss the amazing acts that have been put together this year.

ENRICHMENT REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Thank you for your patience while we worked to put together a great line-up of enrichment opportunities for our students! We appreciated your feedback and incorporated as much as possible, including simplifying Enrichment Wednesdays for students in K-2 by introducing pathways and offering a study hall option for students in grades 6-8.

New: Our K-2 students will now take 1-4 workshops in a single pathway. Students may not enroll in multiple pathways. This will eliminate the need for students to navigate independently between classrooms throughout the day, which will create a calmer, more cohesive environment.

A workshop schedule with descriptions is attached. You will soon be able to find it on the davincik8.org website. After you have read and discussed the information with your child and decided on your preferences, please fill out an online application by clicking on the link below:

�• Submit application by Tuesday, 12/26 for priority consideration. Confirmation will be sent ASAP.
�• Applications received after 12/26 and on or before 1/5 will be processed in a second round.
�• Confirmations for the second round will be sent by 1/10.
�• Two workshops and/or afternoon enrichment club sessions are provided without charge by DVIA. There is a fee of $125 per workshop beyond the first two. Payment for extra classes is due to the front office no later than 1/19.

Any applications submitted after 1/5 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and placement cannot be guaranteed.
�• Any drop or change requests made after workshop confirmation has been sent must be made no later than noon on 1/19. The feedback we received from workshop facilitators last semester was that having students changing their enrollment through the first few weeks of enrichment sometimes made it challenging to build effective learning communities. Note: As we commit to staffing and resource allocation based on initial enrollment, workshop fees cannot be refunded after this date.
�• Any applications submitted after 1/5 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and no placement is guaranteed.

From Our Dean of Students

Hello DVIA Families! We are SO excited to experience Exhibition with you and your students tomorrow and Friday! Your students have been working tirelessly to prepare for this event at school and at home! This is an opportunity for them to show what they know to an engaged, authentic audience, and it is our job to be the best audience we can be for them. When visiting Exhibition, please plan to visit more students and spaces than just your child's presentation. We also ask that you refrain from using cell phones or having adult conversations when in presentation spaces. Finally, to ensure that everyone enjoys the evening, please keep young kiddos with you at all times.

Make sure you read this newsletter carefully, as it contains important reminders and some special information about your Exhibition experience! We can't wait to see your kiddos shine!

Exhibition Times
Exhibition is from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. Students are expected to remain on campus for the duration of Exhibition, regardless of presentation time. For information about your student's specific presentation time, please contact your child's teacher.

Special Pre-Exhibition Performance!
Our Core 4 students will be bringing Columbus and other early European settlers to trial on stage in the Forum through an original play at 4:15 pm! This performance falls outside of typical Exhibition times, so if you'd like to attend, please plan accordingly! Their classrooms will be closed during Exhibition.

Exhibition Dress Code
Exhibition attire is mandatory! We want students to dress with the intent to be taken seriously by their audiences.

Picture Day & Educator Idea

Thursday, Oct. 19, and Friday, Oct. 20
Your child may wear school-appropriate tops instead of a polo or DVIA tshirt on picture day. Please ensure he/she is wearing appropriate bottoms and close-toed shoes only.

Hybrid students will take photos during their on campus time. Collaborative families--look for an e-mail from your supervising teacher!

Parent educators are welcome to take a photo from 8:45 am-9:15am on either day and that will be used to create an educator ID card.
