Dear Remote Tutoring Community,

With a mix of emotions, we announce that Remote Tutoring will be closing its doors on July 1, 2024. Since my junior year of high school, I started this company on a whim, inspired by my own experiences and struggles with online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to channel those challenges into something positive, to support others facing similar difficulties.

The heart of Remote Tutoring has always been our students. Their resilience, eagerness to learn, and bright spirits have been the best part of this journey. We, along with our dedicated tutors, cherish every memory we’ve shared with our students and hope that our efforts have made a positive impact on their educational journeys.

From humble beginnings, many of our students started with us in early elementary school and are now beginning to enter middle school, with some even transitioning to high school. It’s been immensely rewarding to know that we played a part in their educational growth and achievements.

I want to extend a special thanks to Ms. Yoriko Hongo for her guidance and recommendation for a feature on ABC7 Los Angeles, Dr. Paul Jiminez, the City Clerk of the City of Hawthorne, for graciously allowing us to host our Back to School Drive event at Hawthorne City Hall, and Girl Scouts Recruitment Specialists Lizbeth Mano & Erica Henderson for donating Girl Scout Cookies boxes for our event. I also want to express gratitude to the United Afro Student Organization and its founder/CEO, Jaylon Jones, for their support in sourcing suppliers for our Back to School Drive event, and to our Board Members, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Faizah, and Leilani, for their unwavering support and dedication.

Our dedicated tutors, many of whom started with us in high school, have used their experiences at Remote Tutoring to succeed academically and personally in college. Some are now in their final year of college, utilizing skills honed during their time with us.

Together, we achieved significant milestones—from being featured on ABC7 Los Angeles to organizing impactful initiatives like our Back to School Drive-Thru event and supporting the “I Have a Dream Foundation.”

As we close this chapter, I extend my deepest gratitude to all the families, students, and tutors who have been part of our community. Your trust and support have been invaluable. While Remote Tutoring may be ending, the impact we’ve made together will endure.

Although this chapter is coming to a close, we hope this isn’t goodbye forever. Perhaps, in the future, Remote Tutoring may make a comeback in a new form or location. Until then, thank you for allowing me to turn my vision into reality and for making a lasting difference in our lives.

Warmest regards,

Abrar Kazi
CEO & Founder, Remote Tutoring

Hello all!

Wishing the Remote Tutoring Family a Happy New Year.

Some updates:

Our phone number is no longer in use. Please email [email protected] for any comments, questions, or concerns. You may also contact us through Facebook or Instagram (—the “o” in remote is a 0 (zero)).

We are still continuing our services. Currently, we are operating under a holiday rate of $18/hour. This rate will return to normal hours after winter break ends (Date TBD—some time in early January).

We are always accepting students. Please check out our website to submit an enrollment form. Please note the submission of the enrollment form does not guarantee a spot in our program.

Additionally, tutor applications are also always open. The only requirement for tutors is to be a high school student residing in California.

Lastly, once again, happy new year! Thank you for being apart of the Remote Tutoring Family. We wish you, your family, and your children continued success!

Hello everyone!

We are fast approaching our event date! We have completed phases 1 and 2. Thank you to all those who have donated.

At the moment, we are still undecided regarding our venue/location for the event. We are in contact with the City Clerk of Hawthorne to secure a venue as soon as we can. In order to stay updated for the venue location, please make sure to follow us on Instagram or Facebook.

In other news, we have successfully placed an order for backpacks, COVID-essentials, supplies, etc. They are due to be delivered on Tuesday, July 27th. This will consist of Phase 3 of our event, in which the members of Remote Tutoring and the UASO meet up to sort the supplies.

Additionally, we will have a Girl Scout Cookies representative, who generously has agreed hand out boxes of cookies to the first fifty (50) people that arrive, completely free of charge. (These will be served on a first come first serve basis).

If you have any questions, feel free to send a direct message through Facebook, Instagram, or (424) 230-6255. You can also send an email to [email protected].

Thank you!
