2026 Literary Region Champs 🏆📚🎭
The HHS Literary Team traveled to Telfair County today to compete in region literary and came home as region champions. Our team placed first in eight competitions and will move on to compete at state on March 21st!
The following are Hawkinsville’s results from today’s competition:
Argumentative Essay - Ethan Rogers, 2nd place
Personal Essay - Gracie Johnson, 2nd place
Literary Analysis - Autumn Linder, 1st place
Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking - Ethan Rogers, 1st place
International Extemporaneous Speaking - Sebastian Morgan, 1st place
Humorous Monologue - Grayson Carter, 1st place
Dramatic Monologue - Sebastian Morgan, 1st place
Duologue - Gracie Johnson and Bailey Bowden, 1st place
Boys Solo - Joshua Young, 1st place
Girls Solo - Susan Joya-Martinez, 2nd place
Girls Trio - Jordyn Thornton, Takayla Scott, Susan Joya-Martinez, 2nd place
Boys Quartet - Sebastian Morgan, Owen Collier, Avaun Kelsey, Joshua Young, 1st place
This could not have been possible without the help of Mrs Karen Morrison and Mrs Becca Carver who helped coach our music contestants, Miss Nadia Carr who helped coach our dramatic contestants, and Mrs Emily Patrick who drove our bus and helped with the competitions today. Thank you as well to all admin, staff, and parents who supported our students and helped them get to this point today.
