The Biology 316/ Core 216 class had the opportunity to spend time in the field studying local flora. By the end of the semester, the students had learned 180+ local plant species. Here are some pictures showing the fun they had as well as some of the plants they studied.

Just a reminder to everyone interested in submitting pictures for the 2014 Wilderness Club Photo Contest!

Submissions are due by November 29. Photos submitted will become property of the wilderness club.Submit up to 2 high resolution pictures of creation that features your favorite season! Write a short paragraph about the picture describing what the season means to you!

Submissions should include:
• Your Name
• Title
• Approximate Date Taken
• Location of photo
• Reflection paragraph

Submit photos to ccculb.dordt.edu
• Submit photos as a jpg. in individual emails
• Submit paragraphs as a word document in an email marked by photos title

Judging
Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, quality of the photograph, and your ability to explain how the photograph illustrates the given season and what it means to you as a Christian.

Winners will be selected by the Photography II Class (Art 330-01). After the winners have been selected, cash prizes will be awarded as follows:
1st place wins a $20 gift card to The Fruited Plain
2nd place wins a $10 gift card to The Fruited Plain
3rd place wins a $5 Walmart gift card
