As students across Havre de Grace head back to school, we look back to June 4, 1953, when African American students gathered for the cornerstone-laying ceremony of the Havre de Grace Consolidated School, shortly before the new school opened its doors.
As a new school year begins, we honor the students who came before us and wish today’s students, teachers, and families a wonderful year ahead!
