Our very own Emily Gray has been honored this week with the Domenick J. Recchiuti Award!

She is being recognized for her unparalleled service to her students, fellow parents and colleagues, and our community as a whole. She has been an active member of our Board, serving not just as a volunteer coordinator for the Twilight Walk/Run, but as the co-chair of our Student Board, ensuring that our next generation of leaders are getting experience with voicing their opinions, enacting change, and collaborating to bring long-term goals to fruition.

We love that Emily has been recognized by others within the community for being the incredible individual that she is, and we all feel so honored to have her as part of our district!

What a FANTASTIC celebration of school spirit at Manoa Elementary School today!

As winners of the Early Bird Challenge, Manoa students were treated to a water ice party as thanks for their support of our Twilight Walk/Run!

Volunteers from the school and the Haverford Education Foundation Board were on hand to dole out icy treats and plenty of smiles.

Thanks for all the love today, Manoa! Happy Summer!!!

One of the greatest joys of supporting innovative educational opportunities is seeing students take ownership of their learning, and few examples illustrate that better than Ellis!

Last month, Ellis joined a Haverford Education Foundation Board meeting to share highlights from an aquarium project funded through a Foundation grant. What began as a classroom learning opportunity has grown into something much larger. Ellis presented a detailed overview of the various fish in the aquarium, their native habitats, and how the project has helped students better understand aquatic ecosystems and environmental science.

Even more impressive was his vision for the future. Ellis shared plans to expand the project beyond its original scope, creating new opportunities for student engagement and learning. His passion, knowledge, and confidence left a lasting impression on everyone in the room!

We are incredibly proud of Ellis so impressed by his curiosity. If this presentation was any indication, we may very well be looking at a future marine biologist in the making.

Stories like Ellis' remind us why supporting innovative education matters. When students are given the opportunity to explore their interests through hands-on learning, amazing things can happen.
