“My name is Sarah Simpkins, and I am so excited to be joining the SHS team! I recently graduated from Immaculata University with a degree in Secondary Education – English and a Minor in Psychology. I am passionate about creating a welcoming classroom environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas, challenging themselves, and developing a love for reading and writing.
I am originally from the Media and am so excited to begin my teaching career and become part of the SHS community. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, and being at the beach. I am looking forward to getting to know my students and the school community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be joining such a wonderful school!”

💗 Sacred Heart is proud to partner with Pockets of Hope ! 💗

Pockets of Hope is an organization that supports women recovering from mastectomy surgery. As part of this partnership, our students in grades 5–8 will be learning how to sew pockets onto sweatshirts that will be donated to women during their recovery. 🧵💕

To help cover the cost of supplies, we will be holding a Bake Sale & Donation Collection after all Masses next weekend, August 29 & 30! We hope you’ll stop by, grab a sweet treat, and support this meaningful cause!

A very special THANK YOU to Sweet Messina’s Bakery for generously donating baked goods, House Cup Coffee Roasters & Cafe for donating coffee on Sunday, and to our amazing SHS parents who are donating baked goods for the sale! ☕🍪 Your generosity and support mean so much and will help our students make a difference in the lives of women during their recovery. ❤️

📚 Get to know Mrs. Jenn Cianciarulo!
“Hi! My name is Jenn Cianciarulo, and I am so excited to be teaching Physical Education at Sacred Heart School!
I am a West Chester University graduate, where I played field hockey while earning a degree in Marketing. Most recently, I followed my passion for promoting healthy, active lifestyles among youth by earning a teaching certification in Health and Physical Education from Slippery Rock University.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, which includes my husband, Dan, and our three children: Ben (middle school), Isla, and Sam (both in elementary school). We stay busy with many sports and activities that keep us on the go around Havertown. I also enjoy reading, cheering on all of the Philly sports teams (Go Birds!) and trying out the many great pizza places in the area.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students and families at Sacred Heart and making this an active, fun, and memorable school year.”

Please join us in giving a warm Sacred Heart School welcome to Mr. Alec Goldstone, our middle school honors math and religion teacher! ❤️🤍

📚 Get to know Mr. Goldstone!
Mr. Goldstone joins Sacred Heart as our new Honors Math and Religion teacher! Before entering the classroom, he studied economics and began his career in investment banking. While there, he volunteered teaching financial literacy to middle and high school students, which sparked his passion for education.

He is currently finishing his Master’s in Education at Villanova University, where he was also selected as a research fellow studying effective math instruction in the AI era.

Outside of school, you can find Mr. Goldstone on the tennis court or playing his guitar—most likely working his way through Djo’s “End of Beginning.”

His favorite Bible verse is Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others.”

We are so excited to have Mr. Goldstone joining the Sacred Heart family! We are looking forward to an amazing school year together!

Please join us in giving a warm Sacred Heart School welcome to Mrs. Donna Peek, our new PreK4C teacher assistant! ❤️🤍

📚 Get to know Mrs. Peek!
Born and raised in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, Donna is excited to join the staff of Sacred Heart! She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Special Education from La Salle University and later received her Master of Education degree from Temple University. She is certified in Elementary Education and Special Education and has also earned her Reading Specialist certification.
Throughout her career, Donna has had the opportunity to teach students in grades 2–5, work in special education, and serve as a school Reading Specialist. Most recently, she spent the past five years teaching PreK 3 and PreK 4, where she developed a love for nurturing young learners during their earliest school experiences.
Donna lives in Springfield with her husband and their three children, ages 19, 14, and 11. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading, gardening, and anything Disney! She is thrilled to become part of the Sacred Heart community and looks forward to getting to know her students and their families.
