📚 Help Us Prevent the Summer Slide!

This summer, campers across six YMCA camps are taking on the Haverhill YMCA’s Avoid the Summer Slide Challenge, with a goal of reading 2,500 grade-level books.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’re collecting new and gently used children’s books to help put books directly into the hands of young readers all summer long.

Want to help? Donate new or gently used children’s books at any of our drop-off locations throughout June and July.

Together, we can keep the pages turning, build strong reading habits, and help every child stay engaged in learning all summer long. 📖💙

We had such a great time at KidsFest this past Saturday! Huge thanks to the Haverhill Education Foundation for bringing this event back to the city, and to everyone who connected with the Haverhill Promise and Haverhill Public Library table.

We loved running our word mix-master activity, where kids could earn a ticket (book) to Librarycella, one of the many fun and creative experiences featured throughout KidsFest.

Had a fantastic time at last week’s Essex County Regional Session on Advocacy as part of the Institute for Trustees. Huge thanks to for bringing our nonprofit community together for such timely, energizing conversations. Grateful for the work you do to strengthen leadership across our region.

All April long these establishments have been helping collect children’s books for our Avoid the Summer Slide 🛝 Book Drive 📖 📕

All books collected will be repurposed back to the children of Haverhill to help combat the summer learning slide.
