Happy Father’s Day 🎸 Here is my dad in 2011 singing Blues My Naughty Sweety Gives To Me.

My dad was my first music teacher and I am so grateful that he taught me to play American finger-style folk guitar.

This was his first live performance after playing for decades. We opened for possibly the greatest Haverhill band of all time, The Four Legged Faithful.

Born with an incredible ear, he can whistle entire Beethoven symphonies from memory. I once asked him how to play the break in Sir Duke and he went over to the piano and very quickly found the melody.

Happy Father’s Day everyone & keep sharing music.

The Wisps playing Seven Nation Army at Haverhill Art Walk

What an awesome performance of this tune! Each member has studied music individually at our studio for voice, drums, guitar and bass.

Thanks again to the Artwalk for having our students.

Here is Aclivity Sensitivity… an original song by Retrograde!

I am so thankful to be helping students create their own original music all these years and then to enjoy the songs because they end up so awesome like this one!

Thanks again to Haverhill Art Walk for having our students play.

THIS WEEKEND: catch HPAW, Inc. at Haverhill City Hall performing Hadestown: Teen Edition by Anaïs Mitchell. Mark my words: this will be, by far, the best youth production Haverhill has seen in a very long time.

It’s a stunning rendition of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice, set to the music of New Orleans-style jazz. The choreography is exquisite, the acting is top-tier, and the music is absolutely breathtaking.

Tickets are $15/general admission, available at www.hav4thearts.org Please call or text the Box Office at (978) 635-6409 for more information!!

Our incredible voice instructor Bobby runs this program! Check them out at

Our youth bands had a blast at Haverhill’s this Saturday!

The Wisps & Retrograde played some great sets and their original songs are still stuck in my head.

Special thanks to our photographer Elise! Just a few years ago Elise was in our youth band program. Now she is home on break from college and was so kind to donate her time & talent to taking these amazing photos for us! More photos to come & follow her at: .elise

Thanks to for sharing their gear with us and having one of our drummers sit in with them!

Thanks to everyone that made the Art Walk so awesome!

Our favorite Haverhill musician, Liz Bills, is celebrating the release of her solo album with a special performance this Saturday at the historic Club Passim!

Benjamin plays guitar in Liz’s full band called Liz Bills & The Change.

This week Liz released her solo album titled Change. The songs are related to some difficult times she was going through so it’s a beautifully emotional album.

There are only a few seats left to catch her performance on Saturday so head to her page for tickets.

We can’t wait to witness this unique performance!

“Summertime” from the opera Porgy & Bess was my grandfather’s favorite song and since he was a veteran I chose to learn it for Memorial Day.

I’m playing it more like Billie Holiday’s version which was his favorite singer. Listen to her version, she’s incredible, I couldn’t even try to copy her rhythmic approach to the melody so I kept it simple.

I’m tuned in an unusual way to be able to fit the piece on the guitar. It took me three days to get good at it and even then my takes would be filled with string squeaks lol, this one still has a bunch.

This is what playing an instrument is like. You find a song that you love then you learn to play it on your instrument. Hopefully you share it and hopefully at least one person will enjoy it. Much love and keep creating and remembering passed veterans and family.
