I believe that, as women, we have been told from a young age that to be "good" we need to be compliant, obedient, grateful, and that any of our complaints about authority figures, opportunities, or as Rebecca states "invaluable experiences," will be seen as "whining," "moodiness," "bitchiness," etcetera, and I too have found this to be especially true when you're a woman in the workforce. Even as interns or volunteers, our worth is valuable and our discomfort in the face of sexism (or other inappropriateness) is valid. Thank you for your candor, Rebecca, and thank you for reminding us all that we shouldn't take- under any circumstances- sexist BS.
