Who says STEM is only about science labs and math equations? At Havelock High School, Major Prane’s Music/DJ Club is turning up the volume on hands-on learning!

Our students are learning how to operate the technology and equipment needed to set up music, mix sounds, and create engaging musical experiences. Through this club, students explore the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) while developing technical skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

From learning the equipment to bringing the music to life, our students are discovering that STEM can be found in the most exciting places, even behind the DJ booth!

We are proud to provide opportunities for students to explore their interests, build new skills, and see how classroom learning connects to real-world applications.

At Havelock High, we’re not just learning the beat, we’re learning the technology behind it!

A big THANK YOU to the amazing CCS maintenance team for installing the cabinets for the Rams Closet! 🐏We appreciate your hard work, support, and willingness to help make this space come together for our students. One more step toward creating a space where our Rams can get the support they need. Thank you for being part of making this happen!

And if you do not know, the Rams Closet at Havelock High School provides students with access to essential items, including food, clothing, and school supplies, to help meet their basic needs and support their success in and out of the classroom.

P.S. The Rams Closet is getting a makeover! We are all working to improve both the look and functionality of the space as we prepare to better serve our students. Food donations and supplies will begin arriving October 13, and by January, we hope to have beautiful artwork displayed on the windows to make the space even more welcoming. We are excited to continue growing the Rams Closet into a supportive space where students can access food, clothing, and school supplies!

Pink for a Purpose: Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

At Havelock High School, Breast Cancer Awareness Month hits close to home. This month, we wear pink not only to raise awareness, but also to honor those who are fighting, celebrate survivors, and remember loved ones whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

Our Havelock family stands together in support, love, and hope. We are reminded of the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and supporting one another through life’s most difficult challenges.

To everyone in our school community who has been impacted by breast cancer, please know that you are not alone. We stand with you! 🩷

Together, we wear pink. Together, we stand strong. Together, we fight.

Help us congratulate our NJROTC cadets on an outstanding competition at Camp Lejeune!

🏆 1st Place: Color Guard
🥉 3rd Place: Armed Platoon
🥉3rd Place Overall!

This was the Color Guard’s first 1st place finish since Major Prane began leading the program! After two years of working to build a team, these cadets are creating a strong foundation and a culture of pride. Their hard work is paying off, and we couldn’t be prouder!

The cadets also had the honor of being evaluated by the Sergeant Major of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, who took time to speak with them afterward and share some inspiring words.

How excited were they? They sang the ENTIRE bus ride home! Now that’s a happy bus full of Rams!

Congratulations to our cadets and NJROTC leadership! Keep making HHS proud!
