Havelock Middle School

Parents, have you submitted your Impact Aid card? There is still time HMS families have submitted 224 cards so far! We are only 78 cards away from having a 100% participation rate. Thank you to those families who have responded, “outstanding Trojan families!” Lost/misplaced items- this is a reminder that personal items are your child’s responsibility. We are seeing an increase in students asking us to find their personal items or roaming the school looking for items when they should be in class.

Students will take a Mastery Connect Benchmark for 8th-grade science on Wednesday, Reading on Thursday, and Math on Friday. This will be a predictive assessment to inform instruction moving forward for teachers as well as predict student success on the end-of-grade assessment. Title 1 Tailgate: At our home soccer game on Thursday, come see what Title 1 is and what it means for our school!

It might be 9:00 but that means it is still Wednesday!

On this week’s ⭐️ I Wonder Wednesday ⭐️ we are addressing “I wonder what I can do at home to help my child become a stronger reader?”

Reading growth doesn’t only happen at school! Families can support their readers by encouraging reading aloud daily together, asking questions about what they read, having them retell or summarize the story, and talking about new words they encounter.

At HMS, we want to partner with families to help every student grow as a reader. Even a few minutes of reading and talking about a book each day can make a difference!

Together, we can help our Trojans build strong reading skills and leave their Havelock Legacy!

Happy National Coaches Day to our HMS coaches! Today, we celebrate the coaches who make Havelock Middle School athletics special!

On National Coaches Day, we recognize the incredible men and women who dedicate their time, energy, and heart to helping our students grow both as athletes and as individuals.

Our HMS coaches teach much more than the game. They build teamwork, perseverance, discipline, leadership, and confidence while creating experiences our students will carry with them long after the final whistle.

Thank you to our coaches for the countless hours, encouragement, and commitment you give to our students. You are an important part of our Havelock Legacy! Together, you are leaving a legacy that goes far beyond the scoreboard!

🚨 WATER MAIN BREAK NOTICE 🚨

The City of Havelock is responding to an emergency water main break on Fontana Blvd. The break has resulted in a one-lane road closure, with the possibility of a full road closure later today as crews work to make repairs.

Please expect traffic delays in the area and allow extra time for travel. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while crews work to resolve the issue safely and efficiently.
