I’ve received so many DMs about the Beginning of Year Assessment I was using with my son last week! 🎒✨

These assessments are available for Grades 2, 3, and 4, designed to evaluate essential skills from the previous grade. I used these in my own 3rd grade classroom to identify gaps in my students’ learning and spent the time reinforcing those gaps while teaching routines and procedures during the first weeks of school.

In addition to these assessments, I’ve created a Small Group Tracker that pinpoints specific skills students need extra support in based on the questions they got wrong. This makes it easy to know exactly where each student needs help. 📝✨

Dylan asked if he could speak and do something special at Grampy’s Celebration of Life 💕

As a tribute to Grampy, Dylan shared a little about my dad and the things he learned from him. The first was to not sweat the small things and the second was to always be kind. Dylan encouraged everyone to spread kindness and Aloha how Grampy did every day.

This is our rock painting station where guests could decorate rocks with kind and uplifting messages. They were then encouraged to take it back to their hometown and hide it for someone else to find.

In addition, he handed out random acts of kindness cards to those that wanted to participate 🥰

It was so fun to see all the creative rocks people came up with! This was definitely a hit!

Hi friends 👋🏻 it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been around here so wanted to pop in to give a life update (for anyone that’s still around 🫣)

Around February of 2024, my dad had a really bad back injury, or so we thought. Doctors kept brushing it off and after weeks of pushing for more tests to be done, we got the terrible news that it was cancer and had spread throughout his body. 🥹

The next few months I spent flying back and forth from Oahu to Maui to help care for and spend as much time with my Dad as I could. It was a quick, and rough battle. My dad suffered so much and in April of this year, he went to join the Lord in heaven 🤍

This year has truly been one of the most difficult of my life. Losing a parent breaks you 💔

My mom has since moved to Oahu, and we’ve been spending lots of time together as a family trying to help one another heal from this loss.

In addition, I’ve since left the classroom (which I am so thankful for) because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to have spent so much time with my dad in his last months here with us. I’ve been focusing on being a mommy and enjoying life with my little man. Our life is consumed with ⚾️ baseball practices and games 4x week!

I also bartend 3 times a week at my brother’s restaurant and run their social media and marketing!

As far as this page here- I’m not quite sure the direction I should take here…so please bare with me as I figure it out 🥰 if there’s anything specific you want to see or continue seeing, I’m all ears!

The month of December is always an exhausting and draining one for teachers, yet they show up everyday and go above and beyond to make the month extra special for your kiddo(s). Don’t forget to give them a little extra love this month to show your appreciation and keep them going 🥰🎄

Happy December, Friends! 🎄

After a bit of a break, I’m back to share the joy of the season. The lil man and I dashed off to Disneyland to soak up the magical Christmas vibes. Wishing you all a month filled with cherished moments and the magic of slowing down.

Let me know what you’d like to see more of here on the gram. I’m thinking of offering ideas and resources for teacher - both in the classroom and at home- to make December a bit easier, leaving more room for family time. What do you think?! 🌟
