Mental health crisis/suicide on the rise
Do you know why mental health crisis is on the rise along with suicides? It's because we are all just surviving. We work 9-5 a minimum of 5 days a week, which leaves little room for work/life balance getting paid the bare minimum to do these jobs while the cost of living has skyrocketed. We are disconnected from people, family, friends and when we do try to lean on someone people get weird and judge. What's crazy about that is we were built to connect. Our bodies literally crave it, connecting with people lowers cortisol and other stress hormones, and releases mire dopamine and serotonin. We are engineered to connect. How can we though when we are all burnt out and tired by the end of the week? Not to mention going out is expensive on top of the rising cost of living, so we are connecting less and disconnecting more. This is causing mental health crisis all over the world. We weren't built to live life this way. We have become our own worst enemies in continuing to do life this way. We need change, things need to become affordable again, we need more public bbqs at a park or someone's house. We need to restore our connectedness because if we don't then we are all sentencing ourselves to a fate worse than death. This needs to be talked about more everywhere.
