McHugh Furnishings specializes in high-quality, premium furnishings for the Education, Healthcare, Recreation, and Multi-Family Housing Sectors.

We are across the entirety of NYS with offices in Long Island, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany. McHugh Furnishings was first founded by Joseph P. McHugh in 1878, bringing quality mission furniture to the NYC residential marketplace. Many historians believe that Joseph McHugh was the founder of mission furniture. Over the following years, the company morphed into commercial and educational markets. I

n 1943, the business moved into new markets and heights under the guidance of a young salesman named William Francis Mulhall. Since then, this family-run business has rapidly become the go-to provider of premium furnishings for a number of key market sectors.

Project Spotlight | Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School

McHugh Furnishings furnished 1,140 Irwin Citation chairs for the auditorium at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City.

The auditorium seating features maple armrests, bronze row plates, and warm-white aisle lights—details designed to complement a space dedicated to performance and the arts.

Before & After | Garden City High School

Two fully outfitted second-floor physics labs. McHugh furnished and installed the complete laboratory package, including custom metal laboratory casework, black phenolic countertops and work surfaces, 24 mobile adjustable-height student lab tables, 12 peninsula lab tables, two teacher demonstration desks, upper and base cabinetry, laboratory storage, ADA sink stations, fixtures, drying racks and related equipment.

The finished labs combine fixed laboratory infrastructure with flexible student workstations, giving Garden City dedicated spaces for physics instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on lab work.

National Recognition | Freeport High School

We're proud to see the Freeport High School Science Laboratory Renovation recognized as an Outstanding Design in the 2026 American School & University Educational Interiors Showcase.

Selected as one of just 54 projects nationwide and one of only four projects recognized in the Laboratories category, the project showcases six flexible science classrooms designed to support hands-on learning and scientific discovery.

McHugh Furnishings was proud to serve as the furnishings dealer for this project, collaborating with Freeport Union Free School District and H2M architects + engineers. Our manufacturers included Fenco Solutions, and WALDNER Group to bring these advanced laboratory environments to life.

Space Spotlight: Classroom Furnishings

McHugh partnered with Irvington UFSD to select, furnish and install new furniture for classrooms and staff spaces at the High School/Middle School campus.
