Happy Indigenous Peoples Day

Our American and North Dakotan history is messy. And it is very patriotic to examine our past honestly and admit the mistakes that have been made. It is truly the only way to move forward together. It shows a LOVE for America.

I still have a lot to learn and look forward to doing so.

My travels across this state have given me so much hope for a stronger more united North Dakota.

Had a wonderful time at the Burdick Dinner last night.

Went with my daughter Kennedy as my plus one and got to sit by Nicole Derenne candidate for ND House in district 42. Just two of the wonderful people at our table. Many amazing people were recognized and many others spoke at this event. Overall, a very inspiring night.

There was a clear theme for the night. Great leaders of North Dakota listen to the people of North Dakota and are bold in their service to all North Dakotans.

My votes are going to those committed to making the lives of North Dakotans better. And as I ask for your vote, I promise that that will be my mission.

We are still North Dakota nice. No matter how different we are we can always find common ground if we listen to each other.

Rereading my press release response to the announcement of the Teacher Pay Bill.

Summary of my thoughts on the Teacher Pay Bill.

1. I support giving public school teachers a bonus.
2. It is a proposed bill that needs to pass the house and senate to become law.
3. It might be amended before it comes to a vote.
4. The projected first bonus of $3400 is a gross amount.
5. Unfortunately, this on its own will not solve the teacher retention and recruitment crisis.
6. But it would be a well deserved bonus as recognition of our wonderful teachers’ hard work.
7. The proposed bonuses will not make all teachers financially stable any time soon.
8. It does not address the needs of our amazing support staff.
9. The bill will go forward no matter if I win or my opponent wins.
10. But if I win. I will be fighting for this bonus and things beyond this bonus. I will be fighting for real financial stability for all public school teachers and support staff!
