JACKSON, MS, May 12, 2026β Looking for Financial Advice? Your Best Bet Might Be a Mississippi Student. These students took their classroom skills to the trading floorβand came out on top with a 24% return over the S&P500! Connor Johnson, Trenton Hunter, and Ricardo Olvera from Tupelo Career - Technical Center coached by Mrs. Kelley Camp, were named Second Place state-level winners in the High School Division of the Mississippi Stock Market Game (SMG).
The Stock Market Game is an educational simulation that allows participants to experience the dynamics of the market in a risk-free environment. The game is used in Mississippi 4th-12th grade classrooms as part of investment education. Through this interactive experience, players learn about investment strategies, risk management, and the factors influencing stock prices. It is not only a tool for teaching financial literacy but also fosters critical thinking and decision-making skills in a dynamic and engaging way.

As the 25-26 school year comes to a close, Tupelo Fire Department would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Tupelo High School and the CTE program for the opportunity to participate in the intern workforce program.
