The Mississippi Department of Education has implemented a revised accountability model for the 2026-27 school year, raising expectations and setting a higher standard for academic performance across the state.
While the way schools and districts are evaluated is changing, Hattiesburg's mission remains the same: To educate and equip all students to become productive citizens of a dynamic, global community.
At Hattiesburg Public Schools, we will continue to challenge, support, and inspire our Tigers to achieve at the highest levels. We welcome the opportunity to grow, improve, and demonstrate the outstanding work happening in our classrooms each day.
To learn more about the state's updated accountability model and what it means for Mississippi schools, watch the video from State Superintendent Dr. Lance Evans and review the resources provided by the Mississippi Department of Education.
