Creative learning experiences for children ages 8 weeks through 12 years

03/18/2020

OGLC is in direct contact with the Mississippi State Department of Health ( MSDH) our governing officials , concerning the coronivirus. Please be aware plans have the ability to change from day to day. Checking and sharing this FB page will be one way to get new information quickly. Also watch for brightly colored signs to be posted on doors when new information becomes available .
We ask that you follow the restaurant example for entering buildings. The front door and doors inside the front playground will be open to receive and dismiss children. Parents please go to those doors and hand your child inside to the teacher. We think we can limit germs by adults actually not coming inside the classrooms, and rather waiting just outside side the doors. If you tell the teacher to be ready at a certain time we will already have your child sitting near the door ready to leave for the day.
Leave extra clothes and underwear for you child in any kind of PAPER recycled gift bag (no plastic bags they hold germs longer than paper.) Paper gift bags have handles and sides that work best for us. Label all bags with names and if you have some good used bags to share- we will make good use of them. Please keep plastic backpacks home and wash any fabric backpack/bags, but we feel the paper bags will hold down germs the best. They can be easily replaced.
The plastic book we use for our “sign in” book and the pens will be put away until the fear of this virus passes . Teachers will take accurate rolls to prove attendance. You wont need to take bags home everyday unless they have something wet from the day. All bags will be sent home on Fridays and returned on Mondays.
If you plan to use your ONE week vacation you must have attended 6 months (straight attendance with no breaks for summer, Christmas,or Thanksgiving break) . All vacation MUST be turned in to the office dated and signed at least one week in ADVANCE if you want to request to be absent without payment being required. Vacation weeks used as partial days will not be granted, only Monday through Friday will be given as a week. You can’t be absent two days as vacation, then attend the other three. Our rules must be held strictly and tuition paid on time to avoid late fees. Often we let late fees slide, but a shut down, major absences, and vacations will cause us a major issue . If this happens tuition Cost will have to increase.if we are following MSDH rules and remain open, but parents chose to be absent for weeks they will be expected to pay. If you choose to drop, we require a two week written and dated notification submitted to the office. Other Centers have declared they will be closing a month. Parents from those centers desperately need a place for their child(ten) immediately. If you withdraw, it will not be likely that a spot In most classrooms will have an opening and spaces available should you decide to return after this virus is over.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will update info as soon as it can be confirmed with the MSDH for accuracy.
Use your brain and stay safe. We love all our parents, extended families, and most of all children
Soon we might have to ask parents to bring TP, PT, hand soap, sanitizers, and bleach. If everyone helps a little we can all get buy. Oh and add a loaf of bread for toast at breakfast and once a week a sandwich.
Love you all. Thank you for trusting us to teach and love your little ones.
SuSu.

My Tenisha is a Dancing Doll on the TV show Bring It! She has earned a scholarship to dance at Alcorn State University. She is the second from the left. She was a baby when she started at OGLC.
