When children play, they’re doing so much more than having fun— they’re building skills that support them for life

🏃🏻‍♀️ Gross motor skills: Running, jumping, climbing, balancing, and throwing help children develop strength, coordination, and body awareness.

✂️ Fine motor skills: building blocks, drawing, painting, puzzles and using playdoh strengthen little hands and fingers while developing hand-eye coordination

🤝Social skills: Playing with others teaches children how to share, take turns, communicate, cooperate, solve problems and understand emotions.

🧠 Thinking and problem solving: Play gives children opportunities to explore, experiment, make choices, and learn from mistakes in a fun, low pressure way!

💛 Confidence and independence: Through play, children can express themselves, try new things, and discover what they can do!

So the next time you see a child “just playing” remember- they’re learning, growing, connecting, and developing skills that will help them every day!

Play isn’t just fun. Play is how we learn! Movement is the miracle grow of the mind!
