The University of Southern Mississippi Horn Studio

This past week we’ve had current and alumni studio members participate in Haydn in Hattiesburg! On Friday, Ashley (BM ‘25), Chance, and Abby participated in chamber ensembles! Ashley performed Umoja and Suite for Woodwind Quintet with the Joseph Woodwind Quintet, Chance performed Three Sea Shanties with the Franz Wind Quintet, and Abby performed Mozart’s Horn Quintet!

Today’s orchestra concert featured Chance, Ashley, Abby, and Anna on Strauss’ Serenade for Winds; Ashley and Chance on Haydn’s Symphony No. 104; and Abby, Ashley, and Chance on Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3! Congratulations to all for spectacular performances this week!

A huge congratulations to Andrew for graduating this past Friday with his BME! We’re so proud of all of his hard work these past 4 years and can’t wait to see what he does next!

The Horns celebrated the end of this semester at Buffalo Wild Wings! We had an amazing time and can’t wait to gather again in August!

We’re excited to announce that the Horn Club at Southern Miss will be hosting its annual finals week bake sale! We have a savory breakfast option with the choice of freshly made iced lattes and other sweet treats! Come by tomorrow and support the Horn Club!

We’re so proud of Andrew’s success during his time student teaching at Gulfport High School!

A big congratulations to our Symphony Orchestra Horns on a spectacular final concert of the year! Another congratulations to the brass section for conquering Copeland 3!

Congratulations to Abby for performing gorgeous horn solos! Sadly, this marks her last concert at USM before she students teaches at Clinton High School this fall! We can’t wait to see what she does in the future!

Congratulations to Chance for an amazing jazzy chamber recital this past Sunday!

Congratulations to all our of horns this week! We had performance in University Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble! We also had phenomenal solos performed by Logan, Austin, and Abby!

An additional congratulations to Daniel and Abby for performing their last concerts before graduation. Daniel will be graduating with his Masters of Music in Conducting and Abby will be student teaching next semester!
