How lucky are we to have such an incredible business building! SMTTT! 🦅

Scianna Hall is named in honor of the late Southern Miss alumnus Chuck Scianna, who committed $6 million toward the project, alongside his wife, Rita. 💛

In addition to the lead gift from the Sciannas, more than 320 donors contributed over $10 million to bring this 93,000-square-foot hub for learning, leadership and collaboration to life.

Today, Scianna Hall represents the power of community and collective giving. 🦅

Our students are always gaining real-world experience and building valuable professional connections.

This month, Kate Stockstill and Nathan Winter represented Southern Miss Business at the Mississippi SHRM Conference. Over the course of several days, they learned from industry leaders and connected with HR professionals and fellow students from across the state.

Kate and Nathan are both seniors in the Human Resources Management program.

This group of business students traveled across the pond to study abroad in one of the world’s leading business and cultural hubs. Their itinerary included visits to the Salvation Army International Headquarters, Chelsea Football Club, Fortnum & Mason, Chinatown, and much more! They also spent an evening at the West End’s Dominion Theatre to see The Devil Wears Prada Musical.

Every stop gave students a chance to see business, leadership, and culture in a new way while creating memories they’ll carry for a lifetime. Until next time, London! 🇬🇧

Southern Miss is among only 1% of institutions in the world to earn dual accreditation in business and accounting from AACSB.

This distinction reflects the highest standards in business education. Through a challenging curriculum and hands-on learning, our students are ready to compete in today's job market, securing internships and beginning their careers with leading companies.

In late 2025, the College of Business and Economic Development celebrated Scianna Hall's 10th anniversary. Named for lead donors Chuck and Rita Scianna, the facility honors supporters throughout its corridors. 🦅💼

At the core of the building is McDonnell Auditorium, named in recognition of a $1 million gift from Tom and Jana McDonnell. As a co-chairman and board member for the USM Foundation, Tom and his wife, Jana decided to give due to the impact Southern Miss had on their lives.

Donors like Tom and Jana continue to help us build the nest to uplift students, facility/staff, alumni and friends through state of the art facilities and improved resources.

Thank you to everyone who helps us build a better Southern Miss every single day. 💛
