We are excited to welcome our church’s new pastor!

We are excited to announce that on Sunday evening, our church voted to make Bro. Zack Evans the next Pastor of Central Baptist Church.

Bro. Evans trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of nine and answered God’s call to preach at seventeen. For the past nineteen years, he has faithfully proclaimed the Gospel and has served in full-time ministry for thirteen years. Most recently, he served as Associate Pastor of Oakwood Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where he ministered in a variety of leadership roles and developed a passion for helping people grow in their walk with Christ.

Zack and his wife, Sarah, have been married for fourteen years and are blessed with four children: Mason, Elli, Addi, and Beckham. From their very first visit to Central Baptist Church, the Evans family sensed a special connection with the church family and a clear leading from the Lord. They are excited to begin this new chapter of ministry and look forward to serving, growing, and reaching the Hattiesburg community together for the glory of God.

It has been a wonderful, busy, and full week at CBS as we wind down this school year. The elementary enjoyed a crazy spirit week to celebrate their last week of school, the teachers enjoyed being appreciated all week and had a “secret” spirit week of their own as well. Then today the preschool celebrated their last day with a parent picnic! And finally, the Sound of Central high school choir performed their spring concert and did an amazing job (as always!) Thank you all for a wonderful year! To God be the glory! Next week—kindergarten graduation and elementary awards, secondary finals, teen banquet, and high school graduation.

Congratulations to The Sound of Central for their fifth-place win at the AACS National Fine Arts Competition! We are so very proud of each of you for using your gifts for the glory of God. Well done! With over 3,000 students from 30+ state associations competing in over 70 categories, this is truly a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience. Thank you all for your support!
