‼️Upcoming Event: The Stories Behind the Photos: An Evening with Civil Rights Activist Dr. Anthony Harris‼️

TOMORROW at 6:00 PM, Dr. Anthony Harris, a Hattiesburg native and participant in the city’s Civil Rights movement, will deliver a lecture in Gonzales Auditorium entitled “The Stories Behind the Photos.” Afterwards, we will walk down to the university art gallery to view the Herbert Randall exhibition of photos from the 1960s—some of them featuring Dr. Harris.

The lecture is sponsored by the Center for the Study of the Gulf South and the photo exhibition is being put on by the School for Performing and Visual Arts.

We hope to see you there!!

This past Thursday we had the opportunity of hosting a productive and educational discussion on the Ukraine/Russia and Israel/Hamas wars. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful speakers, Dr. Brian LaPierre and Dr. Heather Stur! Your expertise is key to starting the conversation about human rights violations that have occurred in these conflicts!
