🤖🌄 Coding Meets Construction! 🌄🤖

Our students put their programming and engineering skills to the test using Micro:bits! After designing and building their own challenging terrain courses, they programmed robots to follow a line through twists, turns, hills, and obstacles.

This hands-on activity combined coding, problem-solving, and creativity as students tested, debugged, and improved their programs to help their robots successfully navigate the course. Every challenge became an opportunity to think critically, collaborate, and persevere!

🎓✨ Today we celebrated a very special milestone as we honored our amazing 5th graders during their Moving Up Ceremony!

Throughout their years at HES, these students have grown as learners, leaders, problem-solvers, and friends. They have embraced challenges, discovered new passions, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

As they prepare to take the next step to middle school, we are filled with pride and excitement for all that lies ahead. While we will miss seeing their smiling faces in our hallways, we know they are ready to soar to new heights.

🍕🍣🧁 Tiny Creations, Big Imagination! 🧁🍣🍕

Our students put their creativity and fine motor skills to work as they sculpted miniature foods using Model Magic! From colorful cupcakes and pizza slices to sushi, burgers, and sweet treats, each tiny creation was packed with incredible detail and personality.

This hands-on activity encouraged students to think like artists, practice patience, and bring their imaginative ideas to life. We were amazed by the creativity served up in our STEAM classroom. The only challenge was remembering that these delicious-looking creations weren't real! 😊

🏕️🎣 Adventure came indoors in 3rd grade today!

Our classroom was transformed into a cozy campground complete with tents, a mock fishing pond, and plenty of imagination. Students immersed themselves in a camping-themed learning experience, practicing teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving while enjoying all the fun of the great outdoors without leaving school!

From casting lines at the "pond" to gathering in their tent spaces, our young campers showed that learning can happen anywhere. What a wonderful way to spark curiosity, build community, and create lasting memories!

🐾💦 Who says Field Day fun is just for students? 💦🐾

One of today's biggest crowd-pleasers was watching Nala, the Hatfield Police Department's comfort dog, join in the fun on the water slide! With her adventurous spirit and wagging tail, Nala showed everyone that Field Day is for making memories, sharing smiles, and having fun together.

Students were thrilled to see Nala enjoying the festivities right alongside them, creating a moment that will surely be remembered long after the school year ends.

A big thank you to the Hatfield Police Department and Nala for bringing so much joy to our school community!

🥚🐾 Field Day fun with a special furry guest! 🐾🥚

Students showed off their balance, focus, and teamwork during the Egg Relay, carefully carrying their eggs across the field while classmates cheered them on. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and friendly competition throughout the activity!

Adding to the excitement was a visit from Nala, the beloved comfort dog from the Hatfield Police Department's Comfort Dog Program. Nala made her way around the field, greeting students and staff and bringing extra joy to an already fantastic day.

A big thank you to the Hatfield Police Department for sharing Nala with us and helping make our Field Day even more memorable! 💙🦅🐾

🎨☀️ Turning the pavement into a masterpiece!

Creativity was on full display during our Field Day Chalk Art station! Students transformed the blacktop into a colorful gallery filled with imaginative drawings, inspiring messages, favorite characters, and vibrant designs.

This station gave our young artists a chance to express themselves, collaborate with friends, and add a splash of color to an already exciting day. Every square of pavement became a canvas, and every student became an artist!

🖍️✨ Sometimes the best masterpieces are created under the open sky.
