🗓️ A Glance at the Following Week! DIBELS testing will begin, and you may be wondering, “What exactly is DIBELS?” Think of DIBELS as a quick “health check” for reading skills! DIBELS is a series of short, one-minute activities that help us see how your child is developing important reading skills. A teacher works one-on-one with your child to check skills such as letter sounds, putting sounds together to make words, and reading words accurately and smoothly. And what is MAP Testing you might wonder. MAP testing stands for Measures of Academic Progress 📈It’s a test students take to see how much they’ve learned in: 📚 Reading ✏️ Math 🧠 Language usage, and 🔬 Science (5th only).

🐾 Longfellow School Rules Assembly ❤️💛

Today, our Longfellow Leopards gathered together for an important assembly all about school rules, expectations, and making good choices!

We talked about what it means to be a Leopard who shows integrity, respect, responsibility, and compassion each day. Students were reminded that our choices help create a school where everyone feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

From the classroom to the playground, cafeteria, hallways, and everywhere in between—our actions matter! 🐾

We are excited to begin the 30th year of the Character Education program at Longfellow School! Our theme this year is "Stepping Forward with Great Character."

We will be thinking about all the amazing people who have walked through the halls of our beautiful school as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the building.

Students will learn about respect, responsibility, integrity, and compassion through various activities during the year. When a student shows one of these character traits, they may be recognized by a staff member with a LEAP Ticket.

Be on the lookout for these tickets coming home with your students!
