Southern FFA Southern FFA the intra-curricular student organization of Southern HS Agriculture Science Program.

The CASE Agriculture Science courses at Southern High School are committed to developing tomorrow's leaders. Agriculture is the nation's largest employer, with more than 24 million people working in some area of the industry. FFA is one component of the Agriculture Education program which directly prepares members for more than 300 careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. An Agricultural Science and Technology program not only exposes students to a multitude of career opportunities, it helps them discover their passion in life, develop their strengths, introduce them to new experiences, and achieve success. There are three main components through which agricultural education provides well-rounded educational experiences: classroom and laboratory instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experiences, and FFA.

We're getting closer to our dream of building a new Livestock Barn at the Anne Arundel County Fair! Thanks to our amazing supporters, we've raised nearly $15,000 toward our $150,000 goal.

Our students along with CAT-N had a wonderful field trip at Perdue Poultry today. We started in the Hatchery learning how they hatch over a million birds a day, to the innovation center learning abt food science and jobs in the industry, to our last stop an organic poultry farm. Students got to see how organic bird are grown with access to grass and Enrichment activities. Many commented it was the best field trip they had ever experienced in HS.
