Willow’s first event sadly ended with elimination at the water jump. 3 clear refusals, even after getting an illegal lead, and then quite frankly refused to even get off of the course 😂 We will have to come back to Seneca Valley Pony Club’s schooling days this week 💦 Luckily the horses were fabulous especially Navarino galloping through the water and everything else to win wire to wire on his 22 in the ON 🍾

🔎 Know Before You Show: AEC Edition! 🐴🇺🇸

Here’s another little detail that can save you from an unnecessary penalty before your dressage test even begins!

If you’re carrying a whip, make sure you leave it behind BEFORE you enter the arena. You are not permitted to ride around the outside of the dressage arena with your whip before entering for your test.

With the nerves and excitement of a championship, these little details are easy to overlook. Build them into your pre-test routine so that when it’s time to enter the arena, you can focus completely on your horse and your test.

Know the rules. Have a plan. Avoid the penalties! 🩵
