Today, my heart is overflowing. 🤍
Jericah, one of my former students came to visit today… a beautiful young woman who graduated last year, now out in the world chasing her dreams, building her future, and becoming everything she once hoped she could be. Seeing her smile, hearing about her life, and knowing that she is happy, safe, strong, and thriving touched my soul in ways I cannot fully explain.
Sometimes, as teachers, we don’t always realize the impact of the tiny moments, the conversations after class, the encouragement during hard days, the endless reminders to believe in themselves. But then, they come back. Taller. Braver. Wiser. And you suddenly see it… they grew. 🌱
This week has been especially emotional because our seniors are living their final days in these hallways. The laughter feels louder, the hugs last longer, and every goodbye carries a little piece of the heart. Watching them prepare to leave is both beautiful and heartbreaking. They arrived as teenagers trying to figure out who they were, and now they walk toward the world carrying dreams, fears, hope, and endless possibilities.
There is something profoundly sacred about education. To witness young people grow, discover themselves, overcome struggles, and slowly become who they are meant to be. It is one of life’s greatest privileges.
And even though they eventually leave our classrooms, a part of them always stays with us.
To you, sweet Jericah, thank you for stopping by today and giving a hug to this teacher who loves you so much and remembers you with immense affection. 🤍 Seeing you again filled my heart with joy.
To all my seniors, and to every student who has ever walked through my classroom door: thank you for allowing me to be a small chapter in your story. Seeing you happy, fighting for your dreams, and finding your place in this world is the greatest reward a teacher could ever receive.
Fly high, beautiful kids. The world is waiting for your magic. ✨
