Stephen C. Mason, professor emeritus of agronomy and horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, died June 15 in Lincoln at the age of 76.

Admired by his students and respected by colleagues at Nebraska and abroad, Mason was a passionate teacher, adviser, mentor and researcher who generously shared his time and expertise for 33 years in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.

Join us for W**d Management Field Days on Wednesday, June 24 at the South Central Ag Lab in Clay Center!

This annual event will feature on-site demonstrations of new technologies and herbicides for w**d control in corn, soybeans and sorghum. The event is free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

Nebraska crop producers and agronomists can get the latest in-season w**d management updates at the annual W**d Management Field Day on June 24 at the South Central Agricultural Laboratory near Clay Center.

The event will feature field tours, herbicide program research, cover crop strategies and demonstrations of emerging technologies like the Ecorobotix ARA precision sprayer for targeted w**d control and chemical savings. Attendees can also earn three CCA continuing education units in integrated pest management.
