Thursday night was a great night to celebrate, middle school Discovery Degree recipients, Leadership Award winners, great SAE accomplishments, and CDE/LDE accomplishments. We want to thank this year's Chapter Officers: Allison Irby - President, Jaxson Brown - V. President, Ben Vang - Secretary, Zoe Brown - Reporter, Cohen Norton - Treasurer, Allie Holden - Sentinel, and Emily Pickens - Historian.

Russ Mize and Steve Burton also were given the Blue & Gold Award along with becoming Honorary Members of the Hart County Middle FFA!

Hart County Middle FFA students have been busy the last few weeks learning about seed planting depth, germination, and plant care. Students are currently taking their personal plants home to plant over spring break. We will be making Pothos cuttings next week in preparation for the 2027 Spring Plant Sale at HCMS

We would like to give a big shout out to DNR Officers Brandon Pierce & Ethan Franklin for making time to speak to our agriculture classes about boating safety, proper life jacket use, required equipment on a boat, common causes of boating accidents, and boating safety course requirements in Georgia's public waters. Our community has many students and adults who use boats and/or personal water craft for many reasons - fun, fishing, and hunting.

National FFA Week has come to a conclusion! The FFA has been developing students' leadership skills since 1928! Business leaders across the United States recognize the blue jacket everywhere it is worn...backed by memories of CDE/LDE practices, rallies, National & State Conventions, summer camp, and many others. Hart Co Middle FFA hopes all former members and current members alike have had a great week. Thank you to all FFA Members, parents, and FFA Alumni members for your support all year long!

Hart Middle's ag classes had the opportunity to learn about show cattle daily care this past Friday. Topics included cattle behavior & safety, and daily hair work in preparation for a show.

Students will be learning more about opportunities to be involved in our show team. Informational letters will also be sent home regarding livestock.

We are proud of our great land judging team! They were 3rd in the Area 2 Land Evaluation CDE last Tuesday. Overall placings: Sam - 6th, Emily - 10th, Allison - 13th, Nakalegh - 24th. Mason was next man up as an alternate. Great job guys, you represented our chapter well. Only 9 points from making it to the State CDE.

Hart Co Middle Ag Ed always encourages our members to go ahead and take their boating education and hunter education courses so they can enjoy the great outdoors. He is a chance to sign up for the in-person hunter ed course. But, you better hurry, it's this coming week in Elberton! Check it out on the Ga Dept of Natural Resources website.
