Exciting day today! Amanda traveled to Morgan County with her fellow Hart College and Career Academy board members, Terri Partain and Kevin McCraney, to learn more about the Georgia FLEX program and how it's being implemented this school year.

FLEX (Foundational Leadership and Entrepreneur X-perience) is a statewide program that puts high school students in the driver's seat of real businesses, selling real products and services for real money. Local business partners, community leaders, and teachers help make it happen through workshops and mentorship, and students compete through three rounds until a local champion moves on to the state competition.

We're excited to see this come to life right here in Hart County. Stay tuned for more on how local students, businesses, and mentors can get involved!

Grateful for our partnerships and teachers who are willing to step outside the classroom to learn the industry world!

On Monday-local educators boarded the bus and began a week of exploring Hart County’s industries and workforce opportunities. Through hands-on experiences and behind-the-scene tours, participants will gain valuable insight into careers available right here in our community and why local economic development matters.

A special thanks to our industry partners for investing in education and helping us build a stronger workforce pipeline for the future.

The Hart County Charter System is seeking to surplus a gas oven (needs repair) from the Hart College and Career Academy. Closed envelope bids are due to HCCA CEO Steve Burton by 3:30 p.m. on June 19, 2026. Sealed bids can be dropped off at the Hart County High School front office. For questions, contact Mr. Burton at (706) 376-5461.
