Reese was so excited to share items from Gibbs Toys. Second grade students also saw the exhibit during their field trip to the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum last week.
What made it even more special is that her 6th great- grandfather founded the spinning top featured in the exhibit. What an incredible family connection to history!
In Miss Shaub’s music class, we recently listened to the song “The Marvelous Toy,” which talks about a spinning top, making this such a fun and meaningful cross-curricular connection. It’s amazing to see students connect music, history, family heritage, and real-world experiences all together.

Lake Local Schools has once again been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education from the NAMM Foundation. TONIGHT is the event you don’t want to miss! Lake Showcase of the Arts will be from 5:00-8:00pm at Lake Middle High School.

We are ONE WEEK away from our 2nd annual Showcase of the Arts. Please join us Thursday, February 26th from 5:00-8:00pm as we celebrate the Arts at Lake Local Schools.

Third graders at Lake Elementary have been learning all about the Winter Olympics in their PE+ class. They learned about the history behind the games, the traditions, as well as about all of the different sports athletes can compete in. After learning all about these winter sports, our PE teachers thought there is no better way to end the unit than to try one! Third grade students and their families were invited to join in on some fun at Center Ice Sports Complex for some ice skating! Countless smiles were had as everyone skated to music with their friends and family. Thank you to Center Ice for reserving us the ice time as well as to all those who were able to join!

Mr. W is at it again, creating new fun activities for our Primary students! In the spirit of the Winter Olympics, he created five different stations to represent different Olympic events. There is snowboarding, ice skating, bobsledding, torch run, and the ski jump. Students had a blast trying their best at each activity and even got to stand on the podium at the end!

Congratulations to 6th grade Choir members, Olivia and Dylan, for participating in the OMEA District 8 Honors Choir performance. 🎵
