Never Forgotten…..Remembering Hero’s of SEPTEMBER 11TH
Our 5K Tigers enjoyed a special 9/11 remembrance craft as they learned about the importance of remembering, honoring, and showing kindness.
And we think it’s safe to say…the finger painting was their favorite part!

LEARNING FROM HISTORY: A 9/11 GALLERY WALK
Our 3rd–5th grade Tigers participated in a meaningful Gallery Walk as they observed and studied primary-source photographs from September 11, 2001.
Students moved from image to image, making careful observations, asking questions, and reflecting on what each photograph could teach them about this important moment in American history.
A special thank you to Mrs. Warren for coming up with this thoughtful learning experience and providing the photographs for our students.
Through primary sources, our Tigers were able to see history, think critically, and make meaningful connections to the past.

REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11TH
Second graders honored September 11th with a meaningful lesson about kindness, unity, and caring for others.
Each student created a chain link sharing a way they can show kindness to others. Together, their individual links became one chain—a beautiful reminder that when we come together, small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference.
Our Tigers are learning that kindness is something we can choose and share every day.
We Remember. We Honor. We Choose Kindness.

THORNWELL STUDENTS ARE ON THE FARM!
Ag in the Classroom is a BIG hit with our Thornwell Tigers!
🍕 Inside the Ag Learning Lab, our younger Tigers are learning about agriculture while exploring a simple recipe for making pizza and discovering where some of their favorite pizza ingredients come from!
🧈 Our older Tigers are learning the simple ingredients needed to make butter—and the best part? SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE! Students got to see firsthand how a few simple ingredients can transform into butter. Talk about hands-on learning!
🌱 Outside the lab, the learning continues!
🥽 Students are exploring a soybean field through a 360° VR experience.
📚 They’re enjoying agriculture-themed books.
🎮 They’re participating in fun, hands-on agricultural games and activities.
From soybeans and butter to pizza and beyond, our Tigers are discovering how agriculture connects to the foods we eat and the world around us every single day!

🇺🇸 WE REMEMBER — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
Today, our littlest Tigers learned the importance of remembering, honoring, and showing love for our country.
Ms. Mack & Ms. Harrell’s class created American flags as they learned about September 11, 2001 and why this day holds a special place in our nation’s history.
Our Tigers may not have been there, but after today, they will understand why we remember.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

JUNIOR CHEFS ACADEMY!

Our Junior Chefs created Rainbow Fruit Skewers using melon, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, and blueberries! 🍈🥝🍍🍓🫐
While creating this healthy snack, students practiced following directions, sequencing, counting, identifying colors, making patterns, fine-motor skills, and making healthy food choices.

Who knew learning could taste this good? 😋

INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY BOOK DONATION DRIVE!
We celebrated International Literacy Day with a Book Donation Drive, and the books are still pouring in! ❤️📖 We’re still accepting donations—if you bring them, we’ll take them!
Don’t want to get out of your car? No problem! Call the school when you arrive, and we’ll be happy to meet you at your car to collect your donation.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far! Our book drive is reaching beyond Hartsville—we even received a book donation from Jefferson, SC!
Every book donated helps put another story into the hands of a child. New or gently used children’s books, Pre-K through 5th grade, are welcome!
Thank you for helping us spread the JOY OF READING—one book at a time!
